Joe Jarvis had the opportunity to play for a Division I program. The four-star senior from Gilmer, Texas always thought that would be his goal and was corresponding with different Division I coaches.

But Jarvis didn’t get caught up in status. His older brother, Ben, plays at Mississippi College, a private Christian university that competes in Division II.
Jarvis has visited the school many times to watch matches, and was drawn to what it had to offer. He will be signing to play for the Choctaws once the signing period opens in mid-November.
“I really like the school a lot, and I would rather go play at a Division II and know that I can make the starting lineup my freshman year instead of being benched on a D-I team,” Jarvis said. “I know that happens a lot coming into a D-I as a freshman and I want to play and enjoy myself. I am happy with the choice I made.”
