Lauren Gillinov never hesitated to drop hints about how great Yale was to her younger sister Nicole.

Lauren wanted Nicole to come to the Ivy League school so they could be teammates again just like in high school. But she was careful not to pressure Nicole and let her make her own decision.

Nicole didn’t need much convincing to follow in the footsteps of her sister and father by attending Yale. The five-star senior from Moreland Hills, Ohio has committed to the Bulldogs.

“I wanted her to see what she liked and where she felt at home,” said Lauren, a junior at Yale whose season was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic. “It just so happened she and I both felt very at home at Yale. We already have an incredible bond and I am so excited to see it grow even more together next year.”

Getting the chance to play with her sister for one season in college was a major bonus for Nicole.

"That was definitely a huge positive because my sister and I have always been close and we trained together and have always hit together,” Nicole said. “It's going to be really cool to have the experience together of playing in college."
