Fourth-seeded Vihaan Reddy (San Jose, California) brought home the gold in the boys singles at the Reffkin Tennis Center. The boys doubles accolades went to the No. 1 team of Izyan Ahmad (Wayne, New Jersey) and Tanishk Konduri (Cupertino, California).
Sephi Sheng (Palo Alto, California), the No. 12 seed, garnered the girls singles title. Top seeds Carrie-Anne Hoo (Brooklyn, New York) and Nancy Lee (Belmont, Massachusetts) emerged as the girls doubles champs.
The boys singles final was a humdinger, as Reddy beat top-seeded Ahmad 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-3. Reddy brought home his first USTA gold ball in the process.
“I had the chance to close the match in two sets when I was up 6-5,” Reddy said. “My opponent is a real fighter and he came back to win the game. One of my biggest weapons was my mental attitude. I was just playing my game and not thinking about the score. I am happy that I made it.”
