Most kids in tennis start out with a dream of going pro as soon as possible. Not Gabe Avram.
Avram always wanted his path to include a college career first.
“I feel that is what I trained for almost going back to 10 and under,” Avram said. “I’ve just been around the game and seen college tennis and heard a lot about it. I definitely knew I wanted to be a part of it.”

The blue chip junior from Charlotte, North Carolina moved another step closer to making it a reality by committing to the University of South Carolina. Getting the chance to play for head coach Josh Goffi and assistant Andrew Adams was a big deciding factor for Avram.
“Josh and Drew are two of the top coaches in the country and I have just seen the program continue to produce and get guys better every year,” Avram said. “Also, the business school is very good and the culture with the guys was super good. I just had a blast on my visit.”
