Jack Ingram (WTN 14.0) thought his ceiling was higher.
Ingram was mainly being recruited by Division III programs when his coaches at Austin Tennis Academy suggested he consider a gap year.

Ingram was young for his class and would be graduating at age 17. He decided to reclassify his graduation year to 2024 and spend time improving his game.
“The gap year opened a lot of doors for me,” Ingram said. “It was super great to be able to have that extra year to develop and get bigger and stronger and completely go all in on tennis.”
The strategy paid off for Ingram. The four-star from Austin, Texas has signed with Vanderbilt under new head coach Scott Brown.
“I am really impressed with how committed Scott is in trying to make Vanderbilt one of the best programs in the SEC and the nation,” Ingram said. “He has hired a really great staff. Being in Nashville is incredible and Vanderbilt is an incredible academic school, so it’s really like the best of both worlds.”
