The top-seeded Poznick (Ann Arbor, Michigan) won the singles gold ball with a 6-1, 6-2 decision over No. 8 Violetta Mamina (Henderson, Nevada) at Spencer Love Tennis Center.

“I just stayed focused and didn’t think about the past or future,” said Poznic. “ I stayed in the present. I didn’t let any distractions get to me. I had a lot of close matches but I stayed mentally strong.

“I was attacking (Mamina) with my forehand a lot, and not letting her get on the attack that much.”
