Whether it be training at the Bill Adams International Tennis Academy, earning a significant victory in Florida or playing a tournament in another continent, Austin Siegel is getting a world of experience as he gets ready to move from the upper echelons of junior tennis to Division I college competition.
Siegel, a 17-year-old senior from Tarrytown, N.Y., has been training at the Adams Academy in Pembroke, Fla., since last June. While there he won the
Evert American ITF in Boca Raton at the end of 2011 and last month played two ITF events in South Africa, reaching the final in both.
Siegel, who signed a letter of intent to play collegiately at the University of Louisville last November, is not easing up on his travel schedule. This month the 6-foot-4, 165-pounder is in Southern California, where he is playing in the International Spring Championships in Carson and Easter Bowl in Rancho Mirage, two of the biggest junior ITF tournaments in the world.
