Panel Discussion: Importance of Facilities (Part 1)

In college football and basketball, you often hear about the "arms race" for better facilities. It seems like schools are constantly opening new arenas, academic centers, weight rooms, and more. Programs try to get state-of-the-art athletic and academic facilities in place to support their players - and to lure recruits.
Although college tennis is not a revenue-producing sport, many schools are upgrading their tennis facilities. But while these improvements are fantastic, are they also a necessity? We put the question to our distinguished panel of former coaches.
Q) Is there an arms race for college tennis? What kinds of facilities does a tennis program need to be competitive? How much of a difference do facilities make in recruiting?
