Ryan Morgan didn’t need to make a pros and cons list to decide which college he wanted to attend. The unprecedented roster logistics stemming from the coronavirus pandemic took care of that for him.
Because the NCAA granted all 2020 players an extra year of eligibility after their season was canceled, Morgan’s opportunities began to dwindle.

“UC Davis was the only place that had a spot for me,” said the five-star senior from Glendale, California. “The two other schools I was looking at, UCSB and Alabama, told me they couldn’t give me a spot anymore.”
Morgan didn’t want to take a chance on anything else happening, and committed to UC Davis a few weeks ago. Aggies head coach Eric Steidlmayer first began recruiting Morgan in the summer of 2019.
“Davis actually gave me the best offer, so I am happy,” Morgan said. “I think I will also get the best playing opportunities and it’s really a nice campus and a good school.”
