Getting Started
Campus Visits and Interviews

As far as the admissions process is concerned, visiting and interviewing at the schools of your choice is not mandatory. However, about 80% of prospective students do take advantage of the option of visiting certain schools. In athletics, a visit or an interview with the coach can be a turning point in a coach's decision, as well as in your own decision making process. Both of you will want to know if there is the possibility of a good match before scholarships are discussed.

Visiting the colleges of your choice, officially or unofficially, will probably have the greatest impact in determining your final selection. It may also have a great impact on the coach's final selection. While you travel to events during your high school career, it is a wonderful idea to check out nearby schools. This can help you add schools to or delete them from your list of potential colleges. This list will change several times before you decide on your final selections.

Here are some of the frequently-asked questions high school students and their parents ask me about visiting colleges.
