College Commitment
Rebirth at Tulane: Lindsay Dvorak Commits
by Dallas Oliver, 5 November 2007

In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina rolled through the Gulf Coast and damaged a number of communities - most notably New Orleans. Among other closings and cancelations, Tulane University was forced to suspend its tennis programs for the past two years.

But New Orleans is rebuilding, and the Green Wave plans to return to the tennis courts in 2008. Tulane recently announced the hiring of Terri Sisk as head coach of the women's program. Sisk will spend the year recruiting and preparing for a return to Conference USA competition in Fall 2008.

A big part of Sisk's job is recruiting talent, and she has already had success - securing a commitment from Lindsay Dvorak (St Petersburg, Fla.). Dvorak is a 5-Star recruit who placed third in the Top 4 of three Florida sectional events over the past year. She also recorded eight wins in the last four national championships.

Dvorak is looking forward to playing tennis at Tulane, and her parents could not be happier about her decision.

"Obviously Tulane has an outstanding educational reputation," said her father, Robert Dvorak. "We felt very comfortable with Tulane. Coach Sisk and the athletic administrators are very genuine and sincere - they have the staff and program in place to help Lindsay meet her goals."

We talked with Dvorak about her decision process and about Tulane.
