Signing Week: Boyajian Chooses North Carolina Blue
by
Colette Lewis, 16 November 2007
Florida's Brennan Boyajian knew he would have a wide range of options when it came to selecting a college. A perennial resident in the Tennis Recruiting Network's top ten for the class of 2008 and winner of three national championships last year, including Kalamazoo, Boyajian was a major target when recruiting started in earnest this July.
When he decided late last month to sign with the
University of North Carolina, he knew he'd done his homework.
"I wanted to see how other schools compared, what they had to offer with the facilities, how they did things," says Boyajian, who took five unofficial visits - to Florida State, Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Wake Forest - during the summer.
"I narrowed it down to Illinois, UNC, Florida State and Georgia, and at Kalamazoo I made dates to go visit those four schools. It took a pretty long time to actually decide. It was tough."
