Recruiting Update
Tommy McGeorge to Iowa
by Julie Wrege, 26 January 2006
The Iowa Hawkeyes are a team looking to make significant strides in the Big 10 Conference in 2006 and beyond. After a tough year in 2004 where the team won only three matches and went winless in conference play, long-time Head Coach Steve Houghton seems to have the Hawkeyes moving in the right direction. The team improved its record to 10-12 in 2005, and this season should be even better - Iowa does not lose a single player to graduation, and they tack on a strong 2005 recruiting class that includes 4-Star athletes Walker Grimes and Zachary Frisch.
But the Hawkeyes have four seniors on the roster, including Chaitu Malempati and Kyle Markham who play in the #1 and #2 spots. In order to continue their momentum, the Hawkeyes need another strong recruiting class in 2006.
