Becoming Aware of Yourself, Part II
Share:

The last segment of Becoming Aware of Yourself outlined the initial evaluation process. I stressed honesty as the key component in analyzing your strengths and weaknesses. By being honest with yourself, you can successfully pinpoint the areas of your game you need to improve upon.

In tennis, there are three main areas to analyze if you are going to become a complete player. The mental, physical, and technical aspects are all equally important in your journey to becoming a great player. In this segment, I want to focus on the technical aspect of tennis. Whether you are a player on tour or a junior just aiming to get better, you must always be working on your game. From the serve to the drop shot, every shot must be critiqued.

In the areas below, rate your current level of skill development with 1 being excellent, 2 being good, 3 being average, 4 being fair, and 5 being poor. Have your coach repeat the same process and compare scores.
