Does Glucosamine Really Work?

As we have been discussing sports nutrition for the junior tennis player, we have talked about basic sports nutrition, omega 3 fatty acids, carotenoids and the importance of whole grains. In this article, we are going to discuss something that all junior tennis players face - osteoarthritis, and the answer, glucosamine!
Osteoarthritis is a wear and tear disease that robs cartilage from joints. Known as a universal disease, osteoarthritis is a risk to everyone, and especially the active junior tennis player. In fact, the US and other governments and institutions around the world have proclaimed the first decade of the 21st century the "bone and joint decade" in an effort to raise awareness to this dilemma.
