TOURNAMENTS
As of March 19, 2014, Xavier was ranked No. 55 in the Nation in Boys 18 singles.
As of April 2014, Xavier was ranked No. 4 in Texas in Boys 18 singles.
Xavier has achieved the No. 1 ranking in both the boys 14 and 16 divisions in the USTA Texas Section.
In 2011 he won the boys 14 singles championship at the USTA National Open in Midland, TX and in 2012 he won the boys 16 championship at the USTA National Open in Austin, TX.
In doubles, Xavier was a finalist at the 2013 boys 18 national selection tournament in Arlington, TX , a finalist at the 2011 boys 16 USTA National Open in Austin, TX and a QF at the 2012 boys 16 Supernational in Kalamazoo, MI.
HIGH SCHOOL
Class of 2014 at St. Johns School, Houston, TX, Xavier was a two-time captain of the varsity tennis team, four-time MVP, one-time sportsmanship winner and four-time SPC (Southwest Preparatory Conference) All-Conference selection. He was also named a high school tennis All-American.
In cross country running, Xavier was a team captain his senior year, four-year letterman, two-time SPC All-Conference selection, one-time team MVP, one-time sportsmanship award winner, and one-time most improved winner.
In his freshman year, Xavier competed for his school at the spring SPC championships in both tennis and track on the same day.
Academically, Xavier won a National Merit Scholarship, a Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship, and an American Chemical Society Scholarship. In his high school career, he took ten AP courses, qualifying for AP National Scholar recognition. He also won numerous school academic awards in Math, Chemistry, US History, English and Spanish. He was a four-time qualifier for the American Invitational Math Examination, a two-time finalist for the Chemistry Olympiad, a one-time winner of the Sons of the American Revolution US History Essay Contest, and a state finalist in poetry declamation.
Xavier was a member of the Student Affairs Council in his junior year, a Peer Leader for incoming freshmen his senior year, president of the Model United Nations club, and president of the Science and Math club.
Xavier is a 2012 Bill Talbert Junior Sportsmanship Award winner and a 2013 USTA Pancho Gonzalez Scholar-Athlete Grant winner.
