TOURNAMENTS
2014 - I am currently the # 1 Player for Sierra College in Rocklin, CA. I was also # 1 last year. In Northern California Jr. college rankings, I'm ranked # 2 in Singles (only 1 loss all season) and # 1 in doubles, undefeated. We made the State Championship title match and came up short 5-4 to Fullerton in 2013.

Update: We just got back from Ojai, where our team was runnerup for the Team State Title again. But our team Sierra College won the Team Competition Cup, due to our team winning the most singles and doubles. My partner and I reached the Final in Doubles for the State Title, but lost in a 3rd set tie-breaker! And In singles I had a good run, lost in the RD of 16 in a thrilling 3 set match. I was down 5-2 in the 3rd set, and then got in my zone and took a 6-5 lead, but lost in 3rd set tie-breaker 7-4. It was a 3 hrs match.

All in all it was a great tournament for us.

Stephanie Ramos - Tennis Biography

I'm a very late bloomer, and not even close to my potential! I fell in love with tennis after attending the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells in March 2008, 3 months before my 14th birthday. I gave up competitive soccer for the courts!

2009, July I won my first USTA Open, at Solano, 6-1, 6-2, then 6-4, 6-2, & up 4-1 in Final, opponent retired. My serve was explosive in the 2nd round match I beat the number 1 seed, and I think I had 18 aces!
The rest of 2009 due to family financial problems, only played 2 tournaments. Coaching also stopped till 2010

HIGH SCHOOL
Played my Freshman and Sophomore year.
I had to make a decision on either training for USTA's and college or playing High School Tennis. I have chosen to work toward continuing to improve my skills for college tennis. I will be playing women's opens this year coupled with USTA Junior events.

TENNIS CAMPS
I attended a 1 week Nike Tennis Camp at Sonoma State University. This was in 2008, my first year playing tennis.
I earned a couple of camp awards, including most improved player in the camp.

ACADEMY
I have trained at the Spare-Time Junior Academy in Sacramento and at JMG Academy in Fair Oaks,, but due to financial issues, I have not been able to attend either academy since last year.

Below is my summer 2010 workout routine, and the reason it was my best year ever!

I played Tennis and trained from 7am until about 6-7pm in June, July and August. This is how I trained at Rio Del Oro Racquet club, my favorite club! I trained Monday through Friday (I think I only missed one day in the 3 months!)

1. 7am - 8am ran 2 miles in the morning
2. 8am -10am - Tennis group Jr. Workout.
3. 10am -11m (quick snack break)
4. 11am - noon (Gym workout upper and lower body light weights and stretching)
5. Before 2pm, I swam 15-18 laps in the pool, by 2pm the Jr. swimmers take over the pool.
6. 2-3pm (lunch).
7. 3pm to 6 or 7pm, at least 2 practice matches or 4 - 5 sets daily!

That is recipe for success! I also had 1 private lesson every 2 weeks.
