Barry Gorman comes to Roger Williams after having spent the past five seasons at nearby Bridgewater State University. During Gorman’s tenure at Bridgewater State, he piloted the women’s tennis team to Little East Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2010 and 2012.

His women’s teams captured three straight Little East Conference regular season titles from 2010-12. Over that same period of time, he was recognized as Little East Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year, receiving the honor in 2010 and 2012.

On the men’s side, Gorman wrapped up his tenure as the winningest coach in the program’s history, going 46-35 with a .568 winning percentage in his five seasons. In 2012, he was named the Little East Conference Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

Gorman was an outstanding student-athlete on the BSC men's tennis team from 2005 to 2008. He capped off his illustrious career by capturing the second flight singles title at the Little East Conference Men's Tennis Tournament this past spring. Gorman completed the 2008 season with a perfect 14-0 mark in singles play.

Gorman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Bridgewater State in May of 2008. In 2011, Barry completed his Masters of Arts degree in Physical Education with a specialization in coaching from Ball State University.

A four-year starter at singles and doubles at Bridgewater State, Gorman closed out his career with a 41-10 (.803) record in singles play while going 30-17 (.638) at doubles. Along with capturing the second flight singles championship in 2008, Gorman also teamed with Brendon Barbo to win the third flight Little East Conference championship in 2007.
